HPV is a skin to skin contact disease. It enters the body through small cuts or lesions in the skin.

It doesn't affect the blood at all. In fact, people with HPV (and also herpes) can still donate blood (I do). If HPV was spread by blood the American Red Cross would not allow people with it to donate blood (like they do for people with HIV/AIDS).

It's also possible for a person to get HPV even if condoms are used. Condoms only cover a man's penis and not his entire genital area. So, just the rubbing back and forth of the genital areas during foreplay or sex are enough to spread the virus.

Take care!

HPV is known to 120 type strains but 37 are known to sexual transmitted disease with high contagion. It would be spreaded through skin to skin contact with infected area during sexual intercourse, especially for genital area.

Also the HPV may cause genital warts. Some are visible, and some are invisible. But that do not mean there is no HPV virus in your body.

You should take the Colopyohly to see what type you have. The two type of high risky may cause genital warts. The other two type is associated with cervical cancer.

HPV is a virus,in other words it's an STD. it has different types, the ones that usually appear on the skin of the penis, anus and vagina are non cancerous lesions, but there are other types of HPV that cannot be seen unless you have a papsmear done where your doctor sees the lesion on your cervix, these lesions are cancerous and it's what causes cervical cancer in women. Hope this helps, goodluck

HPV is a sexually transmitted disease and it is more of a skin issue as it causes wart like lesions. But it is viral so something that stays with you forever even though it can go into remission.
