Someone in my family has a heart disease. It doesn't seem to seriouse but she feels pressure when breathing and she seems to get tired a lot and very frequently. She has low blood pressure and she is not even close to being obese but she has been having a lot of stress issues for a long time. What might the problem be? the results come out in a month but we are still worried. Thanks

I understand you are worried. Heart Disease is nothing to take lightly. Being short of breath and tiring easily can be several issues as congestive heart failure or even indicating a blocked artery. A professional is definitely what is needed. I do not understand why she must wait a month. ECG, echocardiagrams and other heart test can be done with results quite rapidly so a diagnosis can be made and the proper treatment started. Any time she has pressure, pain, radiating in the chest, and for women more on the shoulder area, she should get to the ER. Stress is a major health problem. Doctors NOW know that stress causes problem in many parts of the body and the heart can be weakened by constant stress causing blood pressure to rise and then the heart works harder. ON a good note, if properly diagnosed heart patients can live productive lives. Having a healthy diet, trying to relieve stress ( maybe talking with someone or a class of one's liking), exercise can all help a heart patient cope with their problem. Hope it all works out for her.

Like the other answer you received, I don't understand why you have to wait a month for the results??
I am a heart attack survivor: Check out: http://mydjconnection.com/articles/2005/11/16/community/news2.txt
There is a lot of good advice on this site, but for something as serious as heart disease, please check with your family physician. If you don't have one go to the ER the next time she shows symptoms.
No doubt I was obese when I had my MI. I never did smoke, but had stress running a small HVAC business.
The heart attack changed me for the better. I'm not suggesting everyone have heart attacks, because it is the number one killer of men, and fast approaching number one for women.
Having a near death experience like I did inspires me to eat better and exercise, and definitely take things easier to control stress
Immediate treatment is the best chance to survive a heart attack, or in my case, intervention by God.

I'm thinking you had to see a doctor to have the Test? It sounds like he(the Doctor), doesn't seem too concerned with your situation. Keep calling him about the results and let him know it worries you. Maybe find another doctor?

Many of the symptoms you are mentioning can be found in connective tissue dissorders. I don't have enough info and am not a doctor so would not try to diagnose. You may need to do more of your own research as all doctors aren't real familiar with the syndromes out there either, or how to treat them.

Stress can cause all types of problems including connective tissue disorder symptoms to show or increase. I wouldn't wait a month for results, too much can happen in the mean time.

"Heart disease" is a wide spectrum of conditions, and it could be any one of these in her wide symptom range: pulmonary embolism (clot in lungs), angina pectoris (due to clogged arteries supplying heart), poor circulation, etc. Also, we have to consider that it may not be heart disease, but something like anaemia (low haemoglobin) or hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) because of her tiredness.

I would insist on your doctor chasing up the results of the tests or repeating them.

IN ANY CASE, I WOULD SEEK URGENT MEDICAL ATTENTION with symptoms such as these, even if it turns out to be minor. Better safe than sorry, although worrying will not help. Try to be realistic and positive, and work out a logical solution.

I hesitate to answer because health issues can be monumental. It sounds to this untrained mind to be Heart Failure. What little I know about it, the names worse than the problem. May God bless and heal her.

Congestive heart failure? Look it up. Speak with her physician.
