Yes, especially when our forests are overgrown. Wild fires destroy healthy old trees because of this countries poor forest managment. Let the loggers back in so that our logging industry can be more globally competitive. With good forestry managment, we might be able to save precious rain forests in South America.

Not at all. You should show some gratitude to the tree for allowing you to hide in her/him whilst you hunt the rabid, tree-hating deer.

I often hug trees before chopping them down with the chainsaw in order to clear a kill-zone for my hunting stand.

LOL.
I would say no.
Back in the early 90's when grunge was making it big, I had long straight hair, all one length. I live in the south and had 3 older sisters. Due to my appearance my nickname was Tree hugging granola baby.

A tree is living, breathing thing, it is beautiful! It deserves our love and admiration, although hunting to kill may be a dichotomy. There's a book you may like, Shel Silverstein's "The Giving Tree".

I think it would be really weird to be watching somebody litterally hugging a tree... but go for it!

Just as long as you don't hug the deer, that's just weird.
