Is there a local theater group that can use it for painting sets? Check with a high school drama class, too.
If there's only a little bit, paint it onto cardboard until it gets used up. Or just open the can, and let it sit for several days until it all dries.
As a last result, mix in a bunch of cat litter (new, not used!). It will help absorb the paint. Then let it dry inside the can, with the lid off.

My experience with latex is to leave the cover off the paint can and let it dry out, since it is water based. After it dries, stuff the empty space of the can with newspapers and you can safely dispose of it in the garbage. Although I like the idea of giving it to a community paint project, too. I have seen that done in larger communities.

Look in your phone book to see if your city has a hazardous waste collection site. Most landfills have a place where the paint can be left for recycling for a small fee. Other cities have collection sites for things like this. You may also call your garbage company and they can advise you to the best way to dispose of this paint. good luck, Darrell

Try putting a teaspoon in vanilla extract in the paint. See if that improves the smell. Or paint a piece of foam core board, and see how it smells after a couple of days. I'd open a window when I was painting, too!

Pour the latex paint into a common bucket and use it to paint stuff where color doesn't matter.

If all else fails, most towns have a hazardous waste pickup, but I like some of the previous suggestions better.

Well, since BP (the gas stations) thought it was fine and dandy to dump whatever chemicals they want into Lake Michigan, I’d say just go leave it in your local BP station. Maybe dump it in the lot there.

Take it across the river, either to N.Y.C. or Philly. Set it on the street corner and someone will steal it.
