umm,,,there is something wrong
Normal blood pressure with respect to cardiovascular risk is less than 120/80 mm Hg. Unusually low readings should be evaluated to rule out medical causes.
Chronic low blood pressure is almost never serious. But health problems occur when blood pressure drops suddenly and the brain is deprived of an adequate blood supply. This can lead to dizziness or lightheadedness. It most commonly occurs in someone who's rising from a prone or sitting position to a standing position. In such cases, it is known as postural hypotension, orthostatic hypotension, or neurally mediated orthostatic hypotension.

This is a low blood pressure for an adult. Some ppl naturally have low blood pressure, but even for one of them this would be considered low. This reading actually tells when you begin hearing the beat of the heart using the blood pressure cuff ( top number) & can't hear it anymore (low number). There is a certain amount of variance in each individual. There are some whose blood pressure can be heard into low numbers, just not usually this low. This is a blood pressure that would cause me to ask some questions. Is it a standing, sitting or lying blood pressure? What is the hydration status of this person? Is this person losing blood somewhere? Is this person on medication for high blood pressure? These questions & more need to be addressed with the person's dr.

It means the the blood pressure instrument is broken - its almost impossible for someone to survive more than a few minutes with a blood pressure of 80/10.

it means there is something wrong. depending on what you were doing prior to having blood pressure taking. you need to go to the doctor to monitor blood pressure for awhile and then decide what the next best step is.

Patient's age, general condition and if measured in the past, a previous reading, are important.
In general, it can be said that BP is low and pulse pressure (difference between systolic & diastolic pressures) is wide.
Please correlate.
