Was Hitler a vegetarian?

Meat eaters just say he was a vegetarian so they can try and discredit vegetarians and hide their own guilt about eating meat.

Okay, lets clear it up once and for all


#1 Hitler rarely ate meat

#2 This was because of health reasons.. Meat gave him physical problems.

#3.. It had nothing to do with any morals or opposition to cruelty to animals

#4.. He was a psycopathic monster

#5.. Probably has nothing to do with "guilt" but SOMETIMES some meat eaters DO mention his supposed "vegetarianism" to put down vegetarians.

How can the theory that Hitler was a vegetarian be proved one way or the other after all this time?
I don't think this theory has been posited to discredit vegetarians - it's more a case of people being amazed how one person (Hitler) could be so opposed to cruelty to animals, and yet be totally indifferent to, and the root cause of, suffering to fellow human beings.
I also do not have the slightest guilt about eating meat. It would be pretty silly really, as there are many alternative foods available.

this is unknown even if he replaced into actual an entire vegetarian. yet that quite isn't major. human beings in many circumstances use the actual incontrovertible truth that Hitler replaced right into a vegetarian with a view to declare that vegetarianism is undesirable. besides the undeniable fact that, that argument is wrong. The argument that because Hitler might want to were a vegetarian, vegetarianism might want to be undesirable, is an celebration of an argumentum ad Hitlerum logical fallacy.

sorry apparently he was a vegetarian but it wasn't anything to do with animal rights at the time the nazi party were very strong in emphasising a good diet to produce fit aryans so Hitler was a vegetarian for health reasons. don't worry Ashley he was not a vegan he still ate eggs.

Btw get over yourself I am not threatened by vegetarian/ vegan lifestyle and I don't feel guilty about eating meat but I have nothing against veggies either.

Obviously Hitlers reasons for being a vegetarian are vastly different to your own.

I did a bit of research too. It took about 10 minutes and guess what? Just as you found a highly questionable source to prove he was not a vegetarian. I found one to prove he was. Along with a few other choice characters.

I don't think it really matters if he was a vegetarian or not. A monster is a monster. No diet, creed, religious affliation, sexuality choices and so forth changes that fact. I am sure there have been lots of people in the world who were vegetarians who committed heinous acts just as meat eaters have. A diet affliation does not make a person more "moral" then anybody or less for that matter.

Maybe you should spend more time working on worthwhile causes instead of doing poinless research.

It shouldnt matter whether Hitler was a vegetarian or not, both meat eaters AND vegetarians are equally as capeable of doing some wicked/evil things.

Did you ever think that vegetarians say he was a meat eater to discredit meat eaters and hide their guilt about killing plants (- they are living things too)?

Michael Bluejay is bizzare, wildly eccentric and misinformed. Just take a look at his bio.

Hitler was a "closeted vegetarian" and here is why. In private and with a select few he would always choose vegetarian meals. However, when he was in public, public gatherings, ministers and military leaders he ate whatever was served which usually centered around meat.

He was not public about his vegetarianism for political reasons. He correctly believed that declaring his vegetarianism and avoiding meat would be interpreted by the public, government and military leaders as a repudiation of the German lifetstyle ethic and hence a sign of weakness.

So you might say "affairs of state" kept his vegetarianism in the closet.

I have read that his "vegetarianism" was publicized as a way of making him look pure. I think his doctor also suggested he eat veg for health reasons. However, he liked squab and sausage. His mistress, Eva Braun, owned fur coats, for goodness sake! And presumably it was he who bought them. If he was veg, it would be for health reasons and not for ethical reasons.
