There is NO "cure" for HPV because it is a virus, however, most women are able to get rid of the virus on their own. Their bodies can basically "fight it off" and get rid of it.
When most people think of a "cure" they think of getting rid of something with drugs, therapy, natural remedies, etc. So, since there are no drugs or therapy to actually rid the virus from the body then there is technically no "cure".
Since HPV is a virus though, and there are no cures for viruses, some people will have the virus their entire life and are unable to get rid of it. And, just because a person might have gotten rid of the virus doesn't mean they can't contract it again in the future. They can always contract the virus again if they have sex with someone who has it or they come in DIRECT skin to skin contact with the infected area of someone who has it.
Don't worry too much. As long as you keep on top of your yearly pap smears (or more often if you have had an abnormal one) you should be just fine. Pap smears are the best thing woman can get to detect any abnormalities on the cervix caused by HPV.
Good luck and take care!

There is, unfortunately, no way to get rid of hpv. There is , however, ways to treat yours. A healthy life style, regular pap smears, protected sex, not smoking. HPV is a virus, you cannot take anything for it. Your doctor should have recommended a pap smear in 4 to 6 month intervals. It can, and will fade away, and you will have no symptoms. What causes it, is unprotected sex, we don't run the risk of getting this, until we have sex. Think of it like a cold, you cannot cure it, only try to manage it. Don't be afraid, you can still have children, you can still lead a healthy sex life, and you can be safe. Most important thing to remember is, when you have sex, you are having sex with every single person your partner has ever had sex with, and everyone SHE had sex with, and so on.... Get regular check ups, take care of yourself, and be safe.

There are a couple dozen strains of HPV. They cause warts. Warts like you usually see on someone's hands, and genital warts.
All warts are contagious, because they shed virus.
Genital warts are more contagious, because the skin of the genitals is more easily infected.
The HPV that causes genital warts has been proven to cause cervical cancer in women, Not every time, but it increases the risk.
There is no cure. Warts are treated by removing them through freezing, by cutting them out, and by topical medications. Some doctors have tried interferons. The science of antiviral therapy is moving fast, and there may be a cure soon.
If you have genital warts and are female, you should get regular pap smears. Since warts are spread by contact, you should use protection if you have genital warts. That may mean more than a condom, depending on where they are.

Everybody else covered everything.. BUT
if you're under 26 you can have the Gardasil (sp?) vaccine to protect from cervical cancer. I had my first one yesterday, it's just a shot in the arm 3 times, once, 2 months later, then 6 months later. My doctor said the younger you are when you get it the more effective it is. I'm 23, so I hope it will have some effect. Just ask your Dr. about it- my insurance covered it 100% and I have crap insurance, so I was happy.

honey sorry u can't get rid of it.... i am dealing with it and i am very clean and don't sleep around but i contracted it.... u know the thing is that if u are with someone u better tell them before u have sex with them. but most of the time most people girls mainly don't know they have it and guys are silent carriers and they spread it without even knowing it.... but i feel for u and i am going through it right now.... so good luck and be honest about it.... i have to have pap smears done every 3 months and the last 2 came back fine and this one i just had done on the 19th came back abnormal.... so i am down for another procedure to be done.... it is something that we have to live with and i hate it and i think that since i read on it i am more comfortable about it..... i have had a year and i wish it would go away it is nothing to be scared about because it is not really a known fact to be deadly.... so i wouldn't really be scared i was scared but u don't know it is there....

its kind of like a cold sore. It can go away when you are healthy, and come back when your immunity is a bit lower. Eating fresh fruit and veg, and not smoking helps to keep it away, but obviously you need regular pap smears to make sure it doesn;t get worse. It has no indication of whether your man has cheated on you or not. Anyone who has ever had sex can get the HPV virus.
