No. Last time I checked, sea creatures are animals, which means when you eat seafood, you are still eating meat. Fish are shown to be highly-inquisitive creatures who feel pain just as other creatures do. Think about it. Fish are animals. Crabs are animals. Snails are animals. Therefore, eating them makes you not a vegetarian. Hope that helps.

There *is* some vegetarian seafood-- seaweed! Some types are really good for you.
Fish, lobsters, clams, mussels etc. are *not* vegetables, they are animals. Therefore, a vegetarian would not eat them. Fish, being vertebrates, experience pain like birds & mammals do & their blood is no less red than a cow's.

Many vegetarians do not eat seafood. Some do. Each person should do what they feel is right. If you want to eat seafood, don't let that stop you from giving up other types of meat. There is no board that sets the standards for vegetarianism. It's an individual choice.

If they want to. But real vegetarians will stop accepting them as vegetarians.

A person who eats fish and calls himself a vegetarian is like a married man who says he is single.

That's why I call myself a lacto-herbivore; because so many insist on saying vegetarianism includes eating animals.

Nope. If you are a person who eats no meat except for seafood than you are a piscivore or pescetarian.

Vegetarian = one who eats plant products and any animal product that was obtained without killing the animal

Now YOU tell me:

1. Is fish a plant?

I hope you figure it out.

No type of vegetarian eats animals.

Unless you are taking about seaweed or algae, seafood comes from animals(shrimp, scallops, fish, lobster).

Yes, you would be a Pesco-Vegetarian. It's a designation recognized by the IVU and by many cultures. Okinawans who are reported by the IVU to have the healthiest diet are largely pesco-vegetarians.

The most vocal members of the V&V forum here are not quite the brightest bulbs on the tree as you will find out. Most of them are very fanatical and in no way are representative of veganism or vegetarianism.

There are also a lot of "kids" on here that are into the latest "fad" and you know what kind of airheads they can be.

You may find a few that are moderate and helpful and non-judgmental.

It's Like "Chef J" said , many think they are the "goddam veggie police" ...LMAO... I like that "Veggie Police"

Why is this question asked twice a week? NO, vegetarians cannot eat seafood.

most would say no, but i do for a few reasons:
1. to make it easier on my mom who still cooks dinner for me/entire family (im in high school)
2. because i dont eat meat because i don't like the way the animals are treated (cooped up their entire life, treated horribly) and since alot of seafood comes from the sea, i have less of a problem eating them.
