is it running dangerous?

My doctor tells me that 120 is the old maximum; today they want patients to be below 100. But 102 is so close it it nothing to worry about. If you have a glucose meter - and you can find them cheap on eBay and Craigslist - you can keep a food diary then test yourself and see what foods raise your blood sugar level. It's going to be carbs. So try to eat wisely, avoid regular soft drinks, eat brown rice instead of white rice; whole grain foods instead of processed flour. All of these things will help your body stretch out the absorption of the carbs and give you energy longer.

All in all, as others state, that's an envious number.

A normal fasting blood sugar is 70-120, and up to 150 after eating. your number is wonderful, and I would kill to have it...lol. No worries, just know that as you get older and less active your risk for type 2 diabetes increases. try to get 30 minutes of exercise in daily, and of course eat healthy. If you are overweight try to lose some weight, and this will lower your risk even more.

Normal blood sugar at fasting is 60 - 120. You are in the normal range. The doctor should have explained this to you. If you still have concerns call and talk to the nurse at your doctor's office. She can put you mind at ease and answer any questions that you might have regarding your blood sugar readings. From what I see you don't have anything to be concerned. about.

Good luck! Take care of your health and you will be ok.

80 to 120 is normal blood sugar. You are okay, but start exercising and start eating a well balanced diet. If you are over weight get the excess weight off.

Where did the .4 come from? And 102 is very normal. Congratulations. Would love to have numbers that low.

the cut off level is 120 but then again, due to your age, you should be more wary of your diet and lifestyle..the cut off level for blood sugar is even lower (i think 110) if you have other diseases like hypertension, etc...why don't you also check if you have a family history of diabetes because it is one of the determining factors..

better yet, consult your doctor again for the proper medications (if any), diet and frequency and type of exercise at your age...

good luck!
