Its better to drink a lot and wash out your kidneys. Just make sure nothing you drink has sugar in it. The kidneys start to remove sugar from the blood above 150, and that can lead to sugar crystallizing in the kidneys, and that is bad. Frequent rinsing can help keep them clean.

Too much water will not usually damage your kidneys. The goal of Diabetes is to control the sugar, because the High sugar will damage the End-organs...like the Kidneys, eyes and blood vessles in the legs and the feet. If your sugars are high, get the diet under control and see your doctor as often as you need to until he/she can get it under control. If your regular doctor can not get it under control, than ask to see an Endocrinologist...they specialize in Diabetes management.

If you are talking about alcohol, then no. Alcohol turns to sugar in your blood system and can raise your blood sugar to dangerous levels very quickly. Because you could be in an altered state, you might not feel the effects of you blood sugar being too high. Basically, if you are diabetic, alcohol is poison to your body.

I'm a type 1 and I cannot even remember the last time I drank water. Water doesn't lower or raise your sugar, it is suggest to drink large amounts of water if your sugar is high to flush out the ketones.

It is not a good idea to drink lots of alcohol. Drinking to much alcohol can give your digestion tract (not just your kidneys) lots of dieases. If you take it once in a while it well probably be fine.
