If you;ve only had sex with one partner..and that partner has only had sex with you..can you get it? How do you get syphilis?

Syphilis is passed from person to person through direct contact with a syphilis sore. Sores occur mainly on the external genitals, vagina, anus, or in the rectum. Sores also can occur on the lips and in the mouth. Transmission of the organism occurs during vaginal, anal, or oral sex. Pregnant women with the disease can pass it to the babies they are carrying. Syphilis cannot be spread through contact with toilet seats, doorknobs, swimming pools, hot tubs, bathtubs, shared clothing, or eating utensils.

Syphilis is caused by a bacterial organism and can be transmitted by contact with an open lesion on an infected person. Sex, an open cut, a mouth sore, childbirth (mom to baby), and infected blood products can all transmit the illness.

Yes but in your case living your whole life without knowing it not very likely

I would say one of you is not being totally honest about the number of partners or relationships, the first website (attached) says you can get it from kissing too? hum?
