One way to light a fire quick, even with damp wood is with a simple to make paraffin firestarter. I always keep some in my possibles bag.

To make the firestarter strips:

Start with a roll of toilet paper, you can use the cheap stuff. Unroll the paper and cover the bottom of a large baking sheet. Continue layering the paper until you have four or five layers, or you run out of Toilet Paper.

Melt one pound of paraffin wax, this is best done in a double boiler. Do not leave melting wax unattended, it will continue to heat until it reaches flashpoint, then you are in big trouble.

Pour the melted wax over the toilet paper in the baking pan. Cover all the paper.

Let the wax cool, but before it is set, use a spatula to lift a corner and use siccors or a knife to cut the waxed toilet paper into strips about an inch to 1.5" wide , the length of the pan. Then cut the long strips into smaller strips about 2-3" long.

You can light these waxed strips with a match or bic lighter. They will burn for several minutes and you can use the flames to start your tinder and smaller pieces of wood. From there simply feed larger pieces of wood, and enjoy your fire.

Save you some lint from your dryer. Get some small tinder them something a little bigger up to the the logs you will burn. Place lint in fire spot, cover with small tinder and light. As it begins to burn slowly add the bigger stuff till you get it going. A campfire doesn't have to be huge. Once it's going just add a piece or two along and enjoy.

Make a nest of tinder (grape vine bark is one of my favorites, but old sisal rope unravelled works well, too). Place a piece of cigarette paper (break open a cigarette and throw away the filter and tobacco) in the middle of the nest. Next, strike a piece of steel (hard steel like the back of your pocket knife) against a piece of flint (its a rock) allowing the sparks to fall on the cigarette paper.

Once an ember catches, blow on the paper and tinder nest until it bursts into flames. Keep adding larger and larger pieces of wood until you achieve the desired results.

Shoot, anyone can use a match or a BIC!

Assemble a pile of kindling such as newspaper, dry leaves, twigs, etc. in the middle of the fire ring. Arrange branches over the kindling tepee style. Strike a match and toss it onto the kindling. Once the kindling and your branches start to burn, slowly add larger branches and logs on top of it until the fire is the size you want it to be.

Are you for real?If so its pretty simple, having DRY tinder is the key to starting a fire, bring a BIC lighter and start with small stuff, leaves, dry grass, small twigs,as you get the fire going you can add larger branches and chunks of wood, the dryer it is the faster and easier it will burn,
P.S. don't burn the woods down, remember, only you can prevent forest fires
