I found it on an article in science daily but i dont get it

Smoke hurts your lungs. After being exposed to smoke, you do not get as much oxygen when you breath. As a result, your brain does not get enough oxygen to do well in school.

Second hand smoke is more dangerous than smoking because none of the toxins are filtered out. Children exposed to this pollution are sicker, have less energy to focus on grades.

Lack of clean oxygen to the brain causes damage. Smokers always think that what they do is victimless. It isn't. Kids who smoke are especially at risk.

StephenWeisten just answered your question. He's right. Our brain needs oxygen in order to function to its maximum potential and smoke doesn't allow the brain to get enough oxygen.

i guess it keeps o2 from getting into their systems like it should but, i dunno... my son is 10 and is a straight A student... i smoke, but then again i do not smoke in the same room with him.....
