it's extremist groups such as PETA and other "morally superior" individuals that give other vegetarians and vegans a bad reputation. we are stereotyped because of these people and are given a hard time about our eating habits. some give vegetarians a hard time because of this while others choose to be ignorant and slam people who they don't understand.
as for the restaurant chains, i agree with you on that. wherever you turn, you see a fast food restaurant, an advertisement for bloody meat. what's sad is that these companies do not give a sh!t about people's health... their primary concern is to sell merchandise to increase their profits.
anyway, to each their own. one day, maybe one day, we'll see a peaceful world where everyone learns to accept one another regardless of the differences, the wars of the world will end, and everyone's heart will be pure and not driven by corruption and greed... nah, who am i kidding?! that'll never happen! ;)
EDIT: since paul ding likes to categorize, then i might as well say that all meat-eaters like to ridicule vegetarians and wave meat in their face. not fair, is it?
seems to me that the only vegetarian and/or vegan person paul has known is the one that came out on a tv show, most likely portrayed by a meat-eating actor. AND out of the 10 vegetarians and vegans i have known (including myself, my husband, and my son), none of them have bad BO or horrible-smelling farts.
i wish you well, paul.

Well, some people are mean. There are people who get their kicks winding others up. It sucks that there's a meatery on practically every corner, and it's hard to walk through most grocery stores without seeing the meat counter, but when you're a minority, such is life.
I suspect your question is aimed at the trolls who come into the V&V section and babble about how much they love their animal foods or ask idiotic questions--well, they would be perfectly fine in the Cooking & Recipes or the Other section, but asking how people like their steak cooked, and putting it in the V&V section is either idiocy or mean-spiritedness.
I try really hard not to be an obnoxious vegan. I would never throw fake blood on anyone. I may wear pro-vegan shirts, but then I see bumper stickers and shirts indicating the person's views, and sometimes I don't like their opinion. I let it go, and so should some of the other posters here.

The realisation that I did not want, nor in any way have to live by means of the killing of other beings. I am now not definite what our our bodies were built for but they run just pleasant on vegetarian/vegan food aside from vitamin b12, which is the one qualm i have with a vegan eating regimen. Within the bush you are correct it could be a struggle, except you cultivated meals, in which case it would be fairly handy. I've regarded it before, legumes within the winter and summer time for protein, leafy greens wild and cultivated all yr round, seaweed from the sea, non perishable meals like beans grains and squash in the summer, berries nuts mushrooms etc. And many others. It could sincerely be the same as the food regimen now but a little more seasonal.

The realisation that i did no longer pick, nor in any way could desire to stay contained in direction of the killing of alternative beings. i'm uncertain what our bodies have been built for yet they run in basic terms high-quality on vegetarian/vegan food apart from nutrition b12, that's the only qualm I even have with a vegan eating habitual. interior the bush you're precise it can be a warfare, till you cultivated food, wherein case it may be incredibly worry-free. i've got seen it in the previous, legumes interior the wintry climate and summer for protein, leafy vegetables wild and cultivated all 12 months around, seaweed from the sea, non perishable meals like beans grains and squash interior the summertime, berries nuts mushrooms etc. etc. it may easily be an identical simply by fact the eating habitual now yet somewhat greater seasonal.

lol ..gee what did i do with my bucket of blood..i always carry a spare in my trunk as to confront people like Paul.
These people have nothing better to do with their time. Thats why they come on y!a in a section they have no interest in such as vegetarian and vegan, and harass people. They are obviously unhappy with themselves in life, and thus take it out on people over the internet without fear of real consequence. The reality is they really don't give a damn.
btw-i dont know, paul , how b.o. relates to vegetarianism. Bad body odor has much to do with your diet. You will find that healthier diets cause less stink.

I'm not sure of the question but would agree that going out to eat can be quite a chore. Esp if you're hard core vegan that has to question the ENTIRE contents of the dish at hand. Can be troublesome when going out as a group and everyone has to bend to one person.
Laws are like sausages, you dont want to know how either is made..
Good Luck!

I agree...I am a lacto-ovo vegetarian. All of my friends support me in my decision not to eat meat, and most of my family. Then there are other kids at my school who say "Why are you a vegetarian?" "What do you eat?" "I can't live without meat!" "It doesn't bother me that an animal was killed for my food, or how it was killed." "You're going to die from no protein!" These things bother me when people tell me that, because I try to never bother them about them eating meat. I respect their decision to eat meat...we all have personal opinions.

I'm Vegetarian.
I agree... Many restaurants that support the meat industry are all over. But, It really doesn't bother me that much. You know?
I mean, Once upon a time, I DID eat animals
(Which I regret, greatly)
But yeah. People can eat what they want. It doesn't mean I have to eat it.

I didn't realize vegitarians were given a hard time. I'm not Vegan. But if that is so, I agree with you. I think that vegitarians must be very strong in ways because society doesn't conform as they do.
