TB spreads through the air when a person with TB of the lungs or throat coughs, sneezes or talks. If not treated properly, TB can be deadly. Symptoms of Tuberculosis include a high fever and fatigue and cough. Tuberculosis is very contagious disease and generally spread by coughing and sneezing. Many are unaware they even have it until years later when they get sick or are carriers. Sometimes it takes a while to incubate. Have a Grandson who was exposed by his Father who had recently been released from prison. Grandson had a really high fever and cough. Has asthma and we thought it was asthma related. Found out accidentally when he was screened for school. Took strong antibiotics for about 9 months. We all screened negative. He only had one visit with his Father and that's when he got it.
We had told the doctor about the child having a high fever for about a week at an earlier visit but the doctor didn't pay attention. Get to the doctor right away and get tested. Then do as the doctor advises. Send the boyfriend too. There are laws now about passing on diseases on purpose.

Listen carefully, GO TO THE NEAREST EMERGENCY ROOM! Get the phone number first and put it on your cell phone. As you approach, call the receptionist and tell her that you believe that you have TB and that you are outside. There are special precautions that need to be taken because TB is HIGHLY contagious. Mycobaterium tuberculi can live in spit on the side walk for a long time. You will need to start a course of antibiotics immediately. TB can and will kill you if you let it go.

weakness, cough, nightsweats, coughing up blood, loss of apetite.

If your boyfriend had TB, I would go to the clinic to seek evaluation. It can be a very debilitating disease if left untreated, and you could pass it to anyone around you. It is highly contagious.
