Plain old vegetarians simply avoid meat. Vegans are the ones who avoid meat, dairy products, any anything tested on animals. I now when I went vegan (after being vegetarian for 3 years) I was freaking out. It sounds very complicated at first, but honestly it's not all that bad. If you decide to be vegan, no, you cannot eat Taco Bell and McDonald's anymore. You will have to put a little more effort into your meals and make sure they're supplied with a variety of nutrients. That's why many people start out as a vegetarian. Simply don't eat meat. No chicken, fish, beef, pork, turkey, ect.

I'm sorry I don't know of a vegan version of Skittles. And I would take PETA's list with a grain of salt, as some stuff they claim is vegan really isn't (like Lemonheads, which I later discovered has beeswax). If you like Starburst, there's a candy called Mamba, which I have seen at 7-11. Pangea (www.veganstore.com) carries it for 89 cents.

Thre are no substitutes for Skittles. Some things in life are sacred and cannot be duplicated. Skittles are one of them. I'm going to have some now.

gelatin is animal collagen, you can try to make your own but getting a simple recipe and replacing gelatin with pectin, which is made from fruits and veggies.

They don't have gelatin in them in the UK. You could try to get someone to mail you some.
