Is there something wrong with her? She's not overweight or anything?

She may have sleep apenea. this is when the fleshy part in the back of the throat closes up and stops the breathing. When she lays on her side it helps. Snoring is the same thing. Stuff they sell on tv makes this area less pliable. Read up on apenea. If she has it she needs it checked out as it interupts breathing. Many times being over weight and acid reflux can cause it and all you need is to diet or go to the doctor and get something to stop the reflux. Anyway I suggest seeing a doctor. They will probably want her to stay over night and have a test. what they do is hookup a bunch of wires that monitor her breathing. This will show if she has it. But see a doctor as it can cause problems.

Also a good way to help is to incline the head of the bed as much as possible and this may stop is. Or get an adjustable bed. Take care.

I agree to RJ. She needs to see a sleep doctor and possibly have test done in a sleep clinic to see if she has sleep apnea. I am the same way. If I am on my back, I snore. If I turn over on my left or right side, I don't snore. Over the past few months I have done the sleep study test and started using a cpap machine. I don't snore any now. Plus it help me stop grinding my teeth in my sleep. I am not overweight either. Just having a hard time getting a good quality night sleep and feel crappy during the day. Best of luck to her!!
