Agave nectar, I believe is 100% fruit and the body metabolizes the sugar in juice form very fast but the sugar is (naturally occurring) not manufactured, like high fructose corn syrup, so not as bad for you and the body will not crave either, unless a person is a Diabetic. Is high in carbohydrates so be careful what other carbs you are consuming at the same time. Best to avoid a whole container of nectar at once though because it is like getting a caffeine high. I mix guava and other nectars with diet Seven-Up, Sprite or plain ice water.

agave nectar is a wonderful addition as an alternative sweetener with different characteristics than honey. This new sweetener is slightly less viscous than honey, lending to its ease of use. The light variety has a wonderfully pleasant flavor that will enhance anything it sweetens.
While using a High frutose corn syrup may contribute to the development of diabetes particularly in children. the drinks containing a syrup had high level of reactive compounds have a potential trigger cell and tissue damages that could cause a desease, w/c is at epidemic levels.

I'm not a fan of honey, nor agave nectar, and high-fructose corn syrup is poison as far as I am concerned. If I was going to use a sugar-based sweetener of some kind, it would be 100% pure/natural grade A or B maple syrup (not to be confused with the fake, inexpensive "maple syrups" that crowd the shelves at the supermarket). Except for the all-natural innate sugar content, 100% pure maple syrup is quite healthy and filled with various nutrients. It ranks with honey as one of the healthiest natural sugar-based sweeteners, and tastes much better (in my opinion). The best all-natural non-sugar sweetener is Stevia, which is plant-derived.

Well, agave nectar is naturally extracted from the plant, and HFCS is a chemical sweetener that has been linked to the increase in diabetes cases. Agave nectar is low glycemic and suitable for diabetics, according to a label I read on one bottle.

Agave nectar is from cactus. High fructose corn syrup is man made. With that information . . . you tell me what is better for you!
Also, there are some brands of Agave nectar that is raw (it still contains living enzymes that are excellent for your health).

Agave Nectar is not processed the same way as HFCS is. Really nasty stuff. It works more like honey or maple syurp.

High Fructose Corn Syrup is a goopy, Globby, chemically altered sweetener.
It fattens you up, clogs your arteries, and is just plain bad for you.
