Ask around. a lot of old boys do woodwork and in their retirement they make some nice things in wood. Ask in the pub or locals. I have one made by an old boy who loved working wood, I told him roughly what I wanted and he made it up, it is so nice and he enjoyed doing it, I paid him of course. He has since died, but his handiwork is superb and I always think of him.

In the U.K. contact Paxton & Whitfield for anything to do with cheese. They will send a selection of cheeses to order and have a Cheese Club. They also hold a Royal Warrant.
They are London based but have small shops in places like Bath and Stratford upon Avon, i.e. the touristy traps!

You can turn lots of things into cheese boards. I have a nice end grain wooden cutting board from IKEA and some pieces of granite from dumpster diving outside a granite countertop place. I've noticed some really nice wooden cheeseboards at my local farmer's market lately, but that only helps if you are in Baltimore on Sunday mornings...

For the board try TK Max, I have been getting lots of super kitchen stuff from there recently.
For the cheese, look for specialist cheese shops on the web or Waitrose and Sainsbury always have a selection of good quality cheese.

This is really something to find that many all together. For someone like me who is just really starting to get involved with woodworking this was like letting me loose in a candy store and telling me I could have anything I wanted. That was my dream when I was a kid.

Along with stone, mud and animal parts, wood was one of the first materials worked by early humans. Microwear analysis of the Mousterian stone tools used by the Neanderthals show that many were used to work wood. The development of civilization was closely tied to the development of increasingly greater degrees of skill in working these materials.

I love Crate & Barrel. They have very nice stuff. Also, JCPenney has a cook's catalog. Their stuff is good quality too. And I see cheeseboards in both. Also, Harry & David or Dean & Deluca will most likely have them, same thing, great quality.
