I'd take the PETA list with a grain of salt, as I've discovered some things they list are not strictly vegan. Mamba candy (sort of like Starburst, but without gelatin) is vegan. It's about 89 cents for 18 pieces. I've seen it at the local 7-11, or you can order it from Pangea (www.veganstore.com).
I think Goldenberg's Peanut Chews are vegan, but I am double-checking the source of the glycerin in them.

i comprehend you're speaking approximately sophisticated sugar that's each and every now and then processed through bone char. yet whilst the candy has that kosher mark then i think of it particularly is okay, via fact it would not be bone char filtered sugar. Licorice, darkish chocolate, non-dairy chocolate, are ok for vegans to consume and are fairly scrumptious. maximum complicated candies like Jolly Ranchers are ok too. purely not milk chocolate, nougat, and issues with gelatin like skittles, starburst, and gummy candies like gummy bears. I had a particular vegan gummy candy before nonetheless it replaced into fairly good.

Drusilla's answer gave me some ideas for our own Halloween treats ;-)
Also, you might want to give stickers, pencils, 'scary' erasers or other non-candy items. We usually have a mixed stash & I'll give stickers to kids if they're obviously so young that they might choke on candy, small toys or something else a bit special to kids that I actually know (the trick-ot-treaters seem to come from miles around) & anyone of reading age gets an informational pamplet about bats along with their candy.

Give out small packages of animial crackers. I think it has been established, like 200 times or so (V&P has the exact count) that animal crackers are okay.
