How are people protecting the Earth?

This is for a Cub Scout requirement I'm helping my son with.

"With an adult, find three stories that tell how people are protecting our world. Read and discuss them together."

1.) Waste water treatment plants.

2.) Combustion engine emission controls.

3.) Conservation of energy, electricity, gasoline and fuel oil.

4.) Recycling paper, plastic and glass.

5.) Planting more trees

6.) Setting aside reserve areas for wild habitat conservation.

7.) Reducing population growth.

8.) Converting agricultural lands to sustainable organic production.

9.) Changing human behavior to reduce demands for natural resources such as wood, water and wildlife.

Nowadays, people are not fund of protecting the earth but in one way that we could protect the earth is follow the CLAYGO environmental rules which means CLean As You GO!

more ppl need to work on this. i am EXTREMELY passionate about this subject...and it pisses me off how little we are doing. my town doesnt even have a recycling system, or anywhere we can take it. in my old town, there was even recycling in the highschool! that was cool. and i was in a club that helped with all this. and we posted flyers all around the school on ways to help with the whole global warming thing. like using florescent light bulbs instead of reg bulbs, unplugging electronics when your done using them, and using cooler water in the washer.
