I'm planning on getting a gift for a vegan friend (who is in the process of throwing out all his old leather.) What's the BEST store to get a gift certificate from? (Though not necessary, a plus would be a store local to Boston/Hanover...since he lives nearby.) Thanks!!

- Well, I actually live in NYC, and haven't been too fond of Mooshoes. Really expensive. How's Panagea for quality? (I figure he'll probably be looking for things like belts, wallets, jackets...) Thanks!

What sort of goods is he looking for? MooShoes (www.mooshoes.com) has shoes, as does Pangea (www.veganstore.com), Vegan Essentials (www.veganessentials.com), and Alternative Outfitters (www.alternativeoutfitters.com). Pangea also has pleather jackets.

None are near Boston. MooShoes is in New York, Pangea in Rockville, Maryland (near Washington, DC), Vegan Essentials is in Wisconsin, and Alternative Outfitters is in Pasadena, California. They're all very good with mail order, as far as I know. Because I live near Pangea, I usually go there to get stuff, as their storefront is open on weekends.
