I think it is terrible. How would you like it if I killed you right now to eat you. They are living things too!

I think killing animals for their meat is terrible. Lots of vegetarian products have the nutrients your body needs to be healthy and are just as beneficial as meat products, even more so without the cholesterol and they don't rot inside your body. Humans are just to greedy to give up meat. It is one thing for an animal to kill another animal for food, they don't know any better. As for humans, we should know better. If someone was about to murder you for your meat, torturing you, you would feel the horror and pain, right? Well the only difference with animals is the fact that they can't speak and express what they feel, they can't learn the things humans can...why is that reason for them to die? What is so appealing about eating somethings flesh anyway? I don't see how the majority of people in the world could have such little compassion for life. The more people go vegetarian the less animals will be murdered. A lot of people say that this one person isn't going to make a difference but it does when all the people come together. Less meat supply would have to be distributed if the demand for it went down.

Yes! I am a vegetarian. I do think so. You OBVIOUSLY don't know how the animals died. The don't just fall over and die. Here is an example pigs in the US that are part of a factory farm are hung upside down by their feet when they are alive. Then their necks are cut and they are left to bleed out alive. They are given nothing to dull the pain. Their necks aren't even cut good enough so that they die in less than 5 minutes. They bleed out alive. They feel all that pain. If they don't die from the knife in a timely manor they are thrown on the floor and their necks broken. Beaten on the floor until their necks break. How awful. That's just how they die , that's not how they live. That's even worse. You have no idea.
Every animal you eat started out running for it's life.

Is eating an animal bad? No, we are well suited to do so and benefit nutritinally.
Is it ethical to treat animals poorly before we kill and eat them? Probably not, but I don't really care.
Is our health, the environment and the taste of our food affected negatively by the conditions of food animals? Absolutely.
Does consuming meat entail utilizing more resources, energy and environmental pressure then the equivalent amount of vegetable calories? Yes
Asking is it right or wrong doesn't get to the core of issues surrounding food.

if you killed a dog it'll be bad. why is it ok to kill a cow? did you know killing a pig is like killing a 4 year old child. i think animals were here for living. breathing. enjoying life. not being pumped full of chemicals and hormones. animals are gods creatures not our torture victim.
you can tell a lot about a nation by the way we treat our animals.

Everything has a purpose, otherwise it would not exist. Are Sheep and Cows just meant to stand there all day staring at each other, dont think so.Cows give us dairy products as well as meat.Sheep give us woolly jumpers and jackets to wear as well as meat. Why do sharks eat humans, why do crocodiles eat humans, why do tigers and lions eat humans, wild dogs, bears, the list goes on.Its in our nature to eat meat,if wild animals like tigers and sharks, even cows were more intelligent than us they would be taking us to the slaughter house by the truckload to.Lucky for us wer a bit smarter than them.Or are we?

all of the animals in that industry were born to die for that very reason...it is not as if we are killing bison at yellowstone or something like that...there are PLENTY of animals in protected areas that CANNOT be hunted period. But the meat industry is NOT reinventing the wheel...AND it is not something that is done JUST here...with all the awareness in the USA...you still ahve to figure that countries like Brasil and Argentina whose BIGGEST industry behind coffe and corn..is meat..and worldwide meat is going to be one of the highest commodities behind oil..now..what kind of meat depends on culture, religion etc...
those who hold the cow as sacred or the hooved animals as dirty will put focus on other animals that do NOT go against their religion.
whatever meats are used were created for the good of mankind. again it isn't like we're killing odd animals for fun...
I myself am not a hunter, and do not need to do that...all the meat i need is in a supermarket or at a butchers...
I used to have some feeling for veal..since it was a young calf...but the fact of the matter is...my feelings will not keep that animal alive any more than anybody elses..my wife HAD a lamb and it died..so she DOES hold onto that sympathetic reasoning..which i will respect and not eat it in front of her..but..then what..are we to respect the crab, shrimp and every other fish and shellfish that are in the sea? they have been hunted for thousands of years and that will never change regardless of my 'feelings" for it...so why am I putting myself through that? there are nutrients in that meat that I prefer to have and do not need to feel guilty for...so I won't.
now that said,...what Michael Vick does to dogs....well there is A BIG DIFFERENCE between killing an animal..and flat out torturing them by drowning or electrocuting? or how KFC was clipping beaks and all that stuff...that IS messed up..
I get PETA's point on furs and that side of making fun of God's creation-but...they do tend to get a bit overboard..

I do. For instance, I love my dog. I also know--from having been a pet owner for many, many years--that mammals other than humans also have some degree of sentiency, and level of self-awareness. (Okay, they can't do math. But they can reason things out, and have personalities.) I just see no reason to kill self aware creatures just so I can eat a hamburger. (Besides, I honestly find veggie burgers equally tasty.)

Emily it is called the circle of life. If every animal on the planet was strictly herbivore all life would end in a very short period of time. Without a balance of herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores(like us) there would never be enough plants and animals (and us) would all kill each other for the last carrot.

Personally what I don't approve of is how ppl do it, without anything for them to not feel pain, they have feelings just like us and cry when they are being hurt. If God didnt approve of it he would have mentioned it in the Bible but he never said to torture them until they were dead...

You kill animals to get veggies too. When farmers plow the fields animals rabbits, chipmunks, gophers and moles get chopped to bits with the plow. Spend some time on a farm during plow season. The "organic" stuff is worse because they don't use any deterrents to keep things out of the soil.
