If you belief HE did that, belief also HIS warning that He is going to once again destroy everything on earth with fire 2 Peter 2:5-6 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; HE did that as a warning Further more HE has already promised Jesus as the savior for sins.

I always use the whole thing- leaves and stems. Nothing goes to waste. A thing I usually do is mince or just coarsely chop them and sprinkle them onto stir-fried dishes, etc.

go with the leaf unless you're using a food processor. it's more consistent and fresh. for more flavor, tear with your fingers instead of cutting. it releases more of the oils... yum!
