Surgery. When the batteries get low it beeps and then the doctors schedule you to replace them. It is just a day surgery, not that bad

Hi...
The pacemaker has a certin life span to the batteries. In most cases the surgeons simply do another surgery and replace the device or the batteries.

When the batteries start to weaken the doctor will schedule an elective surgery to replace the pacemaker. The leads usually do not need replacing must the pacemaker.

They change the BATTERIES by replacing the unit with surgery. Usually every 5 years.

the battery's are in a small case located near the skin and the doctor can make a small cut to change them.
they last 3 to 5 years.

they have to open the person up everytime they change batteries. sorry.
