me and my boyfriend had just had sex like 2 days ago, he gave me oral sex while chewing gum, and we also had sexual intercourse.. i found out soon after that he had been cheating on me.. of course huh.. but the next morning i was really red down there and swollen and itchy and strange small bumps on my "lips"
is this an infection from the spearmint gum?
or possibly an std from him cheatin on me?
please help.. i know its an akward story but im worried and i hate talking to doctors

It could be an STD/STI or it could be a yeast infection.
Gum has a lot of sugars in it, which creates an imbalance of yeast in the vagina and one of the symptoms is red and itchiness.
Go see an RN or a doctor and get tested first for yeast*. If it is not yeast, get a standard round of STD/STI tests including one for Herpes.
Theoretically, you should get tested in between sex partners anyway.
*Do NOT self-treat for a yeast infection if you do not KNOW that that is what it is.

I hate it too. but this doesn't sound like something to just blow off.If your embarrassed about the whole gum thing tell then u used some kind if lube that was for increased pleasure.We used this stuff one time and i got a horrible rash.
just go to a std clinic at the health dept. Everyone there is in the same boat there's no shame in that.

If it is unprotected oral sex then it is possible to get most of the std's. It is a less risky activity then sex. It is rare to catch Hiv from recieving oral sex. Best to wear a condom to avoid the worrying.

I got a yeast infection once from someone who had been drinking beer then performed oral on me. So it's feasible that gum could cause it as well. Anything "foreign" can disrupt the vaginal flora causing an infection.

The hatred of talking to doctors is absurd. Get over it. A physician is the one you should consult about medical issues. What you describe is a medical issue. And don't worry that it's a problem "down there". Doctors have heard it all and seen it all. If you don't get a true diagnosis, how will you ever know what to do about your present condition?
