i received an inconclusive HIV test result 1 month ago. (I just retested this week and am waiting, very anxious)
The only risk factor I have is 2 years ago, I did oral with a guy (I am male) but stopped long before he ejaculated. He did that on my arm (no cuts or sores on my arm). There has been NO contact of any kind since 2 years ago.
Should the test have been definatly positive by now? and what is my risk factor? I need some help, I am sick with worry about this.

If the only contact you have ever had is as you described, your chances of getting HIV from that type of exposure is about 1 in 100,000, so practically nil. It is very unusual to get an inconclusive HIV antibody test. Since your last exposure was so long ago, and the tet would be conclusive in at most 6 months from that exposure date, it is more likely that the inconclusive result is due to an infection with another virus, which sometimes happens, or due to an insufficient blood sample being drawn. A re-test should resolve this by now.

My doc just told me the same thing and now I am in panic mode. I don't lead a promiscuous life, but my exwife cheated on me, but that was 4 years ago when I was married. I tested perfect in cholesterol and other health levels and negative for every other STD, however the HIV is inconclusive.......... How often does this happen?? I think Labcorp did my test as well and now I am just shaking and feeling like the worlds ending... I have to go to a specialist next week...joy.....

Don't be sick with worry, even if it is positive you can still live with it for a long time. It isn't what it used to be. If it is possible to get HIV from ejaculation than I'm sure it is possible from his pre ejaculation, but this would be your only risk that I know of. Just wait for this new test and remember that even if it is positive you have at least gotten to it before it's turned to AIDS. It's better to know then to go through life blind. Be strong and I'm thinking it will probably be negative.

Odd to get an inconclusive test, though. You should talk with your doctor and maybe do a repeat test. - Oh - you've done the retest.
From the sounds of it you should be okay.

Yeah I highly doubt your positive. The risk factor you've described- chances seem slim to none. I wish you well, and hope you will be a lot safer next time.

I wouldn't worry about it. Sounds like you might stress yourself to death though. It is actually not that easy to get HIV into your system. The virus is kinda weak, and it needs a good shot at your body to take hold.
