Chlamydia is only transmitted during vaginal, anal, or oral sex. Anyone that is sexually active can be infected, and a man has the same chance of getting it. Chlamydia is known as a silent disease, because most women and half of men have no symptoms. You can read more about chlamydia here

The chlamydia urine test is only about 90-95% accurate, so it is possible your BF had it, at a low level, but it was not detected. It is also technically possible, but unlikely, to get it from other sources. For example, sometimes cats or dogs get chlyamydia infections in their eyes, so if you got some discharge on your fingers and then touched yourself down there, you could transfer it that way. In any case it is easily cured within 5 days using antibiotics, so it is nothing to worry about as long as you treat it promptly. It is the most common STD out there, and a very large percentage of people get a chlyamydia infection at some point in their lives.

Yes you can.

A STD or sexually transmitted disease is a disease in which transmission by sexual intercourse is the PREDOMINANT mode of transmission.

It is NOT a disease where the ONLY way you can get it is through sexual intercourse.

If you were splashing about in a pool of chlamydia and squirted some up between your legs you might well catch chlamydia without having sex.

However, sexual transmission is the most common mode of transmission. Also, chlamydia is a notoriously tricky little bug. Perhaps there was an error in either your earlier test or maybe in his earlier test. This is yet another possibility.

In very rare cases you can get it from an inanimate object that has been infected, such as a toilet seat. However, it is very unlikely unless you rubbed yourself on the toilet seat or were so careless that you contaminated your hand with it and then yourself.

The most likely explanation is that you got it from a prior sexual encounter and were not aware of it. Chlamydia often times goes undetected in women because women usually don't get symptoms. In men it's a different story since the infection is a lot more obvious.
