On more than a few ocassions and a few different labs, the test result said non-fasting when we told them we fasted? This happened with me, my kids, my husband too.

The lab just reports out what is on the requisition slip. If the techs or whoever leave it blank or fill in different info, that is what will be reported back from the lab. It is good you remember your fasting state, so that when you talk about the results with your doctor, you can tell him/her and he'll know how to interpret the results.

Check it does not mean a range, that means, if you would have reported a non fasting state, your ranges would be different. We only use them in case of emergency, the test was not planned and the person was not told to fast. What is important is your result and the ranges for fasting state to say if that result was OK or not.
