Last week I quit as I no longer could deal with this. Every day I would be looking everywhere for the mice. The sticky traps had mouse hair all over them. As part of my job I had to file in a basement with droppings, dust and mold. I was always sick and could not figure out why. Since I have been home, I do not have headaches, sick stomach sneezings and watery eyes. What can I do about this. I went on a few interviews but find myself looking around for droppings. I am having nightmares that mice are everywhere. Also one of my bosses continually would comment "be thankful you have a job". Help me please

first off, you need to notify OSHA, that last job was breaking many laws big time.
Next, you need to realize that not all employers are so irresponsible. The nightmare you lived thru at your last job is reason enough to be having nightmares and they should pass after a time. you must accept that you put yourself thru a horrific time, that that time has passed, and you need to allow yourself to grieve the loss of the job, and to get over such terrible conditions.

Firstly, thank god you quit. Being around that kind of environment everyday had the potential to make you extremely sick. I'm not familiar with American work place laws, but I would hiring a lawyer if I were you.
It is so gross that you had to work in a filthy place like that, and mould has the potential to make people so sick that they can possibly die of a respitory illness, espceially if they are Asthmatic.

I wish you the best of luck. I truly do. And consulting a therapist might not be a bad idea either.

Well, there are two things that you should do. The first thing to do is contact OSHA and your local health department and clue them in as to what's going on over there. Secondly, you need to contact an attorney. Gather up your medical bills and any other proof that you may have regarding the mice and their droppings, and schedule a free consultation with an attorney.

The job itself is part of the problem, but it also sounds like you have a bit of an irrational fear of mice. I have a funny feeling this is a bit exaggerated as well, as that place would have been shut down long before you got there had this been the case.

Something sounds fishy about this story, that's what I think.
