Indepence day/ wow how'd I mess that one up haha.. Independence.

Maybe I should stick to 'the 4th'

=p

Plant's have feelings? Hmm I suggest you make a video documenting all the horrors of butchering a stalk of celery..then show it to a group of 8 year olds, a group of 18 year olds, a group of 35 year olds, and a group of seniors..and you let me know if any of them understand why you even have a celery video.

Get f'ing real is what I say.

open thoughts - Your 'business' is nothing more then contributing to unnecessary death. Maybe you need to re-examine your self elected enlightened title.

Could you not eat something else and be just as satisfied nutritionally and emotionally? If not I'd say that correlates with some pretty awful circumstances.

In all honesty, most meat eaters don't care enough about themselves to consider another lifestyle. They certainly don't care about any other animals.

Well that was 8 minutes of my life wasted, you'll need to try a little harder than that to put me off my meat.

I - and most meat eaters for that matter - am under no illusions. What was that video supposed to do? Shock me into realising that meat comes from dead animals? I've known where meat comes from since before I went to school, and it really doesn't bother me that an animal has to die for every steak I eat. That's life (or in this case, death).

In that video an animal was killed, unfortunately not as quick as is hoped for and I cannot argue the cow did not suffer at all (all though it did look like it was knocked out my the first blow), but it was a clean death nonetheless and the second bolt looked very painless. So so far I have seen an animal die, bloody wow.
Then its throat is cut to drain the blood (quite a graphic image but I can honestly say it didn't affect me) and it is decapitated. It is then skinned and butchered. Was that supposed to shock me into eating a salad, because from the fact that meat in a butchers never has a head, skin and usually comes in lots of different cuts, I'd sort of worked that out.

So, that showed me nothing I didn't know already, and am fine with, so how it is supposed to turn me veggie is beyond me.

Most of my immediate family are vegetarian so I didn't need to upset myself with watching it, but I hope any meat-eaters who see your question have a look. We'll be having beans & Smart Dogs this 4th, & toasting Vegan Sweets marshmallows. Mmm, probably some home-made guacamole & various other goodies too. Like the magnet on my range hood says: "There's plenty to eat without choosing meat!"

I'm a vegan, but I can't watch that stuff... and that's why I'm not eating it ^^ if I can't take watching it, why let the guilt go to another while I "enjoy" it. I love animals to much to eat them, and I belive animal protein is bad for our bodies. with that all said, I hope everyone has a great 4th, for the meat eaters out there, please consider organic, free-range, humainly treated befor and during slaughter meats, it's not only better for the animals, farmers, and earth, but for u as well.

I watched it. Ordinarily I would have cried, but I've watched so many slaughterhouse and other animal cruelty videos that it takes a lot to make me cry. I feel sorry for that cow; idiot meat eaters don't care about animals at all and that is truly pathetic. "But it tastes GOOD!" "But plants are alive too!" "Why are you trying to get me to stop eating meat when I don't try to make you start?" "You're ruining my dinner!" "Nice video--that makes we want to eat hamburger!" Stupid people, stupid excuses--meat eaters, you really need to GET A LIFE!

As Chew on This by PETA says--"It takes a small person to beat a defenseless animal, and an even smaller person to eat it."

You are all small people, murderous meat eaters. Small small. I am bigger than you and I am SHORT. HAH!

OMG! I am already a vegetarian, and as soon as I played this, I couldn't watch it for more then 30 seconds without crying! This is why I became a lacto-ovo vegetarian almost a year ago!

I like your name so you are solely defined by what you eat that pretty sad. Oh wait i m being sarcastic so you been a conscript what army were you conscript in. How dare you use the term conscript it is strictly military term and not use for your food choice. You bring great dishonor to people who are conscripts and died for there country. You have no honor your not even a man. I doubt ever will serve or fight in a war because actually uses courage and bravery so don't uses the word conscript. But in the way it what you do preach involuntary veganism to everyone who eats meat.(which they aren't solely defined by) By the way translators don't translate good what said didet make perfect sense but guess saying going die eating flesh food. actually people eat balance diet including meet lived the longest on earth my grand father lived to 102.

Okay, I watched. What are you getting at. The first thing that they do is put a bullet through the brain. Any movement after that is nerves. They are instantly dead. My brother has worked in 2 slaughter houses. That is how it is ALWAYS done. As for the cow who was down, it probably slipped on the floor, and was injured and that was why it was butchered. (This assumption was based on the full milk bag.)

So, with that being said. I hope everyone has a fantastic 4th of July BBQ. For you vegetarians, I hope you enjoy your 4th of July food as well.

Why do I say this? Because I am not one who tells people what they should and should not eat...in other words, I mind my own business. I wish more people would!

Just like I said, the asker wants to try to change my diet. I do not try to convince you to eat meat...why do you try to convince me not to? As for your question could I eat something else and be just as satisfied? Probably, but I believe that a well balanced diet includes animal protein.
