Please use garden produce in your food theme.
Cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, celery, carrots etc...
Cool dishes, remember your surroundings, will guest all have a seat and a place to table their drinks and or plates or will they be standing. Careful of things that can roll off the plate.
Cut all produce into shapes that will sit not roll around. Iced tea, lemonade or good punch with frozen sherbet will keep guest cool. Have a great party

Easy Italian Cumcumber Cups

1 large English or burpless cucumber, chilled
1/3 cup sun-dried tomato spread
3 tablespoons crumbled chèvre (goat) cheese , feta or chream cheese
Fresh basil leaves, if desired

1. Make lines or indentations lengthwise down cucumber at 1/4-inch intervals, using vegetable peeler or tines of fork. Cut cucumber into 32 slices, 1/2 inch each. Place on paper towels to drain.
2. Spread each slice with about 1 teaspoon tomato spread. Sprinkle each with about 1/2 teaspoon cheese.
3. Serve immediately, or refrigerate up to 1 hour. Top each slice with basil leaf just before serving.

Sorry, but when I hear 'Garden Party', I don't think BBQ. A Garden Party is old fashioned and 'proper'. Think tea, tea cakes (tiny cakes), finger sandwiches, chilled fruit, salads (that are small bites - never use a knife at a garden party), etc. You get the idea.

A BBQ to me is obviously BBQ meats, corn on the cob, potato salad, pasta salads, watermelon, etc, etc.

Either way - just have fun.

When I think 'garden party' BBQ menu does not come to mind. For a Garden party I would serve ;
Salmon-stuffed pea pods
Cheesy carrot bites
Chilled avocado soup
Southwestern steaks After they have been marinated, they would be grilled, sliced across the grain and served on specialty roll
ls of your choice. ( boneless top sirloin steak )
Creamy mustard sauce to serve on the steak
Corn salad and a refreshing dessert.
