Cardiopulmonary clearance normally when a patient is undergoing Surgery, the cardiologist give cardiac clearance after doing an EKG and the Pulmonologist gives clearance after doing an Xray chest and spirometry. The anesthetist on the basis of their reports chooses the type of anesthesia.
It is now a protocol prior to surgery in every case.

it is a written statement from a cardiologist (heart doctor) & from a pulmonologist (lung doctor), stating that after a thorough examination, you are given a clearance to undergo a specific test/procedure, usually related to surgery..
