veggies and dip are a big hit and they are healthy as well...

sundae bars are fun...a taco bar would be fun...

the 2nd link I included is a recipe for salad on a stick...my kids were amused by this...

serve fruit punch or lemonade...with frozen berry icecubes and orange slices...fun...

keep it simple, so you can have fun as well and not be fussing over the food!

Try this 1. Take a big plate and cover it with lettuce leaves 2. Cut of tomatoes and bellpeppers and take out their seeds (so they become like small bowls) 3. Put the dip you'll make (recipe is given below) in the tomato bowl 4. Put the veggies (celery, carrots and cucmbers) in long slices and put it inside the pepper 5. If you are putting cauliflower and broccoli then steam them and tuck one in at the side of the pepper. Recipe for the dip (for 3 -4 cups of dip) 1. Take 1 and a half cup yogurt 2. Take 1 cup of sours cream 3. 4 table spoon olive oil 4. about a cup of baby spinach 5. salt, pepper, mint (as you like it) 6. 2 cloves of garlic 7. 1 teaspoon of hot sauce 8. 1 tomato 9. 1/2 avocado 10. 1 tablespoon mayo Blend all the ingredients together

cold spagetti salad or other pasta salad. Really just cook spahetti, drain well, add Italian dressing, and if you like cut up tomatoes then refrigerate for 4 hours to overnight. If you want you can also add black olives, green peppers, and onions or leave plain. You can do this with bow-tie pasta too or spiral pasta. Chips of course. Potato salad, cole slaw, baked beans, hot dogs. I make cheesy hash browns which kids love (email me if you want recipe.) We're having a bday cook out too in 2 weeks for my 50 yr old!

here ya go:
1 pkg of Ore-Ida frozen hash browns (the cubed not shredded)
1 can Cream of Chicken Soup
1 stick butter
1 8oz tub sour cream
Package of shredded Colby Jack cheese

Thaw hash browns.
Place soup (plus ¾ to 1 full can of milk); melted butter; and sour cream in bowl and mix well.
Place 1-2 cps cheese in mixture and mix again.
Add hash browns and stir well.
Place in 9x13 pan and bake at 375 for 45 minutes.

You can double the recipe depending on # of people. You can also make ahead and refrigerate overnight then cook before ready to serve

My friend had Mashed Potato Sundaes at her last B-day party. Make mashed potatoes and have an assortment of toppings to put on them, like cheese, bacon bits, onions, sour cream. The kids loved it and she ran out quick.
