I know the best way to avoid HPV is condom (even though it is not 100% guaranteed), but the problem with that is: what if both partners are married? What would happen if they have unprotected sex? After all, can they have a child? So many questions...

Of course they can have a child, but there is always going to be a chance that the person with HPV will spread it to their partner. Since a couple obviously has to have unprotected sex in order to conceive a child they are taking the chance of spreading the STD.

There are other (more expensive) ways to have a child though, like in vitro fertilization or artificial insemination, if you have the money.

Also, HPV is VERY common. It's estimated 75 - 80% of the world will have the virus at some point in their life. So, if the other partner does contract the virus it's not necessarily the end of the world. Females should visit their OBGYN every year to get a pap smear though. HPV can cause cervical cancer, and pap smears can detect any abnormal changes on the cervix which can lead to cervical cancer.

Good luck!
