Anyone can have an unusual reaction to a medicine that results in heart failure or even death, so the answer is yes, but it is extremely rare. Excederin and other pain medicine like Motrin, Alleve, etc. do not typically have any effect on a healthy heart, and aspirin is actually used to help reduced the occurrence of heart attacks and stroke. However, some painkillers can make heart failure worse by increasing fluid retention. Excederin is not one of those that makes heart failure worse because it contains a large amount of caffeine which is a diuretic (reduces fluid retention).
