I am sorry that your mother died.

Your mother may have died due to cervical cancer, vulva cancer or anal cancer. These cancers are linked to genital high risk HPV types.

They are 13 HPV types that are found in cervical, vulva, vaginal or anal cancer. You acquire these HPV types when you have sex with someone that carries one or more of these HPV types. Cervical and many genital cancers are slow growing taking years for the virus to progress to a cancer. An HPV test sees if we carry a high risk HPV types www.thehpvtest.com and our Pap test looks for early cell changes that the virus can cause.

I know that this has been difficult for your family...

hpv does not kill anyone, it can contribute to female cancer of the cervix and that can kill you. but its not all that likely. you can get the hpv injections now and hopefully you wont get the disease or the resulting cancer.

you dont die from hpv. you die from what hpv "can" cause, cervical cancer. most people dont die of aids, they die from a cold or what the immune system cant fight off. ALWAYS get your pap smears done. that is what can help prevent cervical cancer.
