I am going to have a taco bar. Any suggestions on items I should have on it to suit a variety of tastes, even kids?

Well, first off, you need taco shells (soft, hard, seasoned, all different kinds) and meat! Then you need lettuce, cheese, HOT SAUCE, tomato, seasonings, those tasty, crunchy, breaded square things, onions, and sour cream!

wow! what a concidence, I just had a birthday/ pool party this weekend too! And it was so fun!

At the party, I served great dishes! My guests even asked for the ingredients, but I kept it as a secret! But now, i will share my secret with you: People don't want to get dirty! They don't want to touch their foods with forks and knives and spoons and plates and napkins! It's just too much and confusing!

So, serve alot of finger foods! Suggestions are below:

- put ham, cheese, mayo, lettuce, tomatoe, and other stuff in sandwhiches. make a variety of sandwhiches. Now cut them into triangles or squares and get those fancy toothpicks with the tissue paper on the very top and stick it in the sandwhiches. It's so easy to eat, you dont even need a plate! Just eat it right from the toothpick.

- chips are great. put the chips in a bowl and another bowl for salsa! Wow! great combo!

- make mini tacos! they taste great and ur guests will have such a variety of foods because they are small and they can eat more.

- for dessert, serve very small scoops of ice cream. Or do the same thing with the sandwhiches. Make a cake or buy one. Then cut the cake into small triangles. And stick a toothpick into each small slice of cake.

- Vegetables are great finger foods. You can have a variety of vegetables in a seperated bowls and have a small bowl in the middle with the dip! People can use their fingers!!

- Pizza is great! Cut them into small bite size pieces!

Hmmm...your party will be great!! just like mines was!

A good taco bar will have enough choices to make everyone happy. Include most of the following: lettuce, tomato, onion, japalenos, at least 3 types of shredded cheese, guacamole, sour cream, taco sauce, ketchup (for the kiddies), olives........Make sure you have plenty of cokes, water, beer, gatorade & sweet tea too.....

Include several different fillings: a shrimp (low fat and calorie but high cholesterol), vegan (just veggies- no fat, no cholesterol, very low-cal), steak (great for the Adkins people and those who have no diet issues). Have all the fixin's in separate bowls: cheese (Pepper Jack, Montery Jack, and Cheddar), lettuce, tomatoes, hot and mild salsas, soft and hard shells, etc. Also make a pot of bean soup that is vegan and could also be used as a dip. And of course have margaritas, Sangria, and a variety of Mexican beer.
