There is no drug to test for arthritis and blood work can only test for certain types like rheumatoid. The other types are found by ruling out rheumatoid and looking for other clues. Osteoarthritis is very common. I have a form called psoriatic arthritis. No blood test found it and it was sort of touch and go and then I broke out on my feet with psoriasis. I had my answer and my rheumatologist now has me on Methotrexate and probably soon will go on Remicade. Not a perfect answer but your best bet is to find a rheumatologist (arthritis specialist) if you even think that is what your problem is.

Quite often under the direction of a physician, a dosage of prednisone is given to measure the bodys reaction to it over the next 24 hours. I was in really bad shape, could hardly move around. They gave me a 60 mg dose of prednisone and I woke up about 7 hours later feeling like a new aperson.
Gradually (over 7 months the dosage was lowered a little each week, and I no longer take it. Talk to your doctor and perhaps you need to see a rheumatologist.

I did not think any medication tested you for Arthritis. What happened to me, years of single episodes of joint inflammation, diagnosed as 'strain, knock, bump'. Then one day my toe swelled up and I know I had not done anything, so my GP took blood tests and started me on some anti-inflammatory drugs. The first drugs prescribed made me vomit, so back to GP for another brand. Four days later saw my GP about my blood tests and he stated 'You test positive for Arthritis'.
