Different schools of surgeons have different opinion, and has been a source of controversy as to the choice of treatment with minimum pit falls, a good article is given on the link given below:

Yes you are right !By pass is the best answer unless it is contraindicated ! By pass do not gets blocked so fast as in stent or balloon angioplasty! Medicated stent also works for few days only and it may not work at all ! My opinion is if you do not have any major symptoms and you have passed major portion of the life than do not under go any such things in terminal stage of life ! My Coronary artery is blocked by 99^ as was shown in 1985 in my coronary angiography but i did not have under gone anything !Still i am living happily !Enjoying all steps of life ! But that does not mean every one can do so !Think for positive and if you are keeping other wise well than better to live with the trouble rather than inviting other troubles !Trouble of doctors and all tests and what not !!Always YouRsmE

Bypass should be last resort, medicated stents have been proven patent for many years. Multiple stents can be used on one vessel as well. Weigh the odds of risk and of invasive surgery..,keep in mind people who have bypass surgery sometimes have to have stents later in life ,so why take the risk of surgery when its very possible that a stent will last you a lifetime and you are out of he hospital in 24 hours.
