The Red Cross tests for STDs and infectious diseases like West Nile virus. If you test positive, they will pitch the blood and notify you of the test results.

Red Cross tests your blood. If it comes back that theres something wrong then they will toss it out and notify you. The blood is also tested again before it is given to someone. The blood you give goes through a variety of checks so if theres something wrong you will know.

I don't think so....considering that you can donate blood even if you had herpes. As long as you are not having an outbreak: http://www.goaskalice.columbia.edu/1077.html

There's also this site: http://www.pleasegiveblood.org/education/blood_tested.php

This lists all the diseases that they screen.

If you are concerned with having herpes...you can either go to your primary care physician. They can draw your blood and have the results back in a day or two. You can also check with your city's health department. Not as fast with longer lines...but can be cheaper.

Good luck...

could no longer inform you that - yet i'd propose employing a health facility like planned parenthood - they're plenty extra powerful testing for each thing. a doctor's place of work has to justify testing in keeping with indications to ensure that insurance to pay so which you get only the minimum testing - the place the clinics are extra inquisitive approximately conserving the inhabitants save and ailment loose.
