Spirulina supplement. It contains 55 - 75% protein depending on the brand you choose, which in turn helps in the composition of hair & nails, which are made of protein - Keratin. I have been a vegan for over 11 years now and with absolutely no problems with my waist long hair. I take a spirulina tab everyday and it really helps with the body's nutritional requirements. For healthy and glossy hair try eating a spoonful of flaxseed oil + sun flower oil on an empty stomach. You get it readily in health food stores.

I have been vegan for about 8 months. Believe it or not, prenatal vitamins (yes, the ones taken by pregnant women or those trying to get pregnant) are great for hair and nails. I'm not trying to get pregnant (I'm in my late 30s) but I've been taking them for a while and can see a difference.

Rosemary oil is very good for the hair. Biotin and trace minerals, such as those found in blue-green algae (2 to 6 tablets per day), help hair growth.
If you want faster growing nails, be sure that your diet is rich in Vitamins A, B-Complex, C, D, E and iron, calcium, zinc, sulfur, and the essential fatty acids.

A well rounded diet will help with strong hair and nails. Your hair can only grow a certain amount each month though.

Carrots or carrot juice. (Natural source of vitamin A)
Calcium. Calcium comes from dead sea shells, you decide how vegan is that.
