Brain cells, in fact nerve cell is general are not replaced. Once you get your quota during development that is all you get. Even as we age normally we loose brain cells every day.

Most will say "no" but this is Bologna. Think, when you are/were stoned you can almost actually feel the dead brain cells. When you came back, they did too. Brain cells regenerate constantly unless you have a disease; at a slower rate mind you if you are older. If brain cells just died and didn't regenerate we would be in bad shape as the human race especially with all the junky crap food available to us in which we consume in great amounts. This is detrimental to our brain cells.

Yes it does and same with smoking, but recent scientist study has been shown that running enables for brain cells to grow more. Not necessarily grow back, but more will grow when doing a running activity for exercise. Not sure exactly how running makes this work for forming new brain cells-this is a proven fact! Women face more issues as far as damage goes on anything really because women have less enzymes than men do. Men can tolerate a lot more due to men have higher levels of enzymes. That is why men don't get sick often with colds, have you noticed that??? This doesn't excuse the risk factor on the liver though. Yet, my friend who had drinking problem back in high school/college recently was discovered with liver cancer associated from that. It's very rare to get liver cancer. He was told the odds of living is none. He was told later he can do a surgery that would save him, but the surgery is very risky and can die immediately from the process of surgery to remove the cancer in his liver. They removed half of his liver, well excitingly livers can grow back!!! i didn't know that. This was a new study as well and he was one of the first few to try this surgery. As long as he follows the strict liquid diet for now, he will have a full brand new liver again very soon in a few months. He's doing very well and yes his liver is growing back. Strange how these things are discovered, but in my opinion I wouldn't put myself at risk for these to find out really or take advantage knowing these things.

Why do people like katabo bother answering questions when they don't know the answer? Are they that desperate for points?
If you want an answer, you could try a medium to talk to my Mum. She died after sevn strokes because the damage each stroke caused could not repair itself.

I don't think so; I think they just get recycled by your body. But new brain cells are made in the brain, so don't worry.

I guess you've got your answer young sir. The only thing to do now, to prevent any further damage, is to stop doing what you're doing ... or, at least, cut back until such time as you feel able to stop.
