Pilates, always breath in slowly through your nose, right to the bottom of the lungs, expand the chest, shoulders back and then SLOWLY out through the mouth as if whistling. Thirty minutes of this will improve your lung function. One month later move onto blowing up balloons. You might want to try taking omega 3 oils as well.

my booklet says to use Pursed-Lip Breathing
1 relax your neck & shoulder muscles
2. Breath in (inhale slowing through nose for 2 counts, keeping your mouth closed, not a deep, but rather normal breath, it may help to count to yourself inhale, 1,2
3. Pucker up or purse your lipss as if you were going to whistle
4. Breath our(exhale slowly & gently through your pursed lips while counting to 4, it may help to count to yourself.

there are other's like the Diaphragmatic breathing & Forceful coughing, if you go to any of these sites(below they will send you a booklet -free- to better breathing.~ best wishes

Pursed lip breathing. Slowly inhale through the nose. Exhale slowly through the mouth with your lips puckered as if you are going to kiss.
