Your wife needs to seek medical help immediately. Burning pain in the chest and pressure are both possible indicators of ischemia (oxygen deprivation) of the heart. She needs to be evaluated ASAP for a number of serious heart problems including having had a heartattack. I'm no doctor or anything, but I would say going to an ER and calling her primary care physician immediately is something that needs to happen.

It could be something as simple as heartburn, or it could be a sign of something more serious going on with the heart. The only way to know for sure is to take her to a doctor to be seen ASAP. Is she having trouble breathing? Does the burning sensation come and go? Women get different symptoms than men when something goes wrong with their heart. So take this seriously and get her to a doctor.

Firstly, the cardinal rule is that chest pain and shortness of breath are to be treated immediately - no exceptions. Even upon presenting to the EOR, anyone with either symptom will be seen ASAP before all others in the waiting room. Altho it may be something as simple as heartburn or an anxiety attack, it is risky to take that chance. I strongly suggest getting her to the EOR or at least calling your family physician.

Burning can mean many things, but when someone says pressure it is always good to go get checked out ASAP. Many people experiencing heart problems describe it as if they have a ton of brick on their chest (pressure).
Go to ER.

It could be acid reflux or a stomach ailment, but it could also be associated with a heart problem as well. She should see a doctor to make sure!

So, instead of saying, "Honey, call the doctor and see what he says." You said, "Okay, I'll check Yahoo Answers and see what's going on."
Could be severe acid reflux....could be a heart attack...have her go to the doctor!
