I was wondering how long do genital warts usually take to leave? And...how can you tell they are leaving? Is there a feeling of some sort? On average, how long does Aldara usually take to get rid of them?
Sorry, have alot of questions.

Recently was given Aldara to treat them, but seems as if they're already going away...but there seems to be an itchy burning feeling in the area. Just wondering if this is normal. The doc said that if the aldara doesn't work that he'd freeze them, but that is painful and he thought we'd try this way first.

I used Aldara a little over a year ago to treat genital warts and I couldn't tell if they were leaving or if the medication was even helping. It took a little over a month for my warts to completely go away using Aldara cream. It also itched really bad and kind of burned, especially during the 3rd and 4th week using the medication. But, my doctor told me to just keep using it and they eventually went away.

I used Aldara first because I saw surgery as kind of a last resort! You just have to be patient. Don't worry they'll go away in a few weeks, you just have to give it time! Good luck!

Aldera works well but it takes a few weeks to see results. They slowly diminish in size until they disappear... no specific feeling or anything. The best, and fastest, way to treat GW is to go to your OB/GYN and have them "removed." This is done with acid applied directly to the warts. They fall off within a day or two. Sounds painful, but it's not at all. Were you diagnosed recently?
