The most expensive thing I lost was not monetary but sentimental, it was a pendant my hubby bought me when we first started going out. It was the 1st present he bought me & I lost it years later when my daughter was a baby & pulled it off at our local swimming pool while my son was having a swimming lesson. I didn't notice till bed time when I went to take it off, went to the pool the next day but I couldn't find it. That was 5 years ago & I still wish I had it back.

I lost or got stolen, a $500 Japanese chef knife. Left it for three minutes to grab some cakes to be cut and it was gone. I am almost sure I know who stole it. Worst day of that week.
