I have a potluck tommorow and the host has asked me to bring egg sandwiches but I want to know, what is a good size to cut the sandwiches in? Should I cut them in 2 triangles or 4 triangles?

Here's a different idea completely:

Take a loaf of your favorite sweet french bread and slice it horizontally. Hollow out some of the bread in order to put your filling in. Make your favorite egg salad recipe and add perhaps some crumbled bacon and shredded cheddar cheese. Olives are also a good addition. Spread the bread halves with a mixture of mayonaise, a little mustard, and sweet relish. Fill with the egg mixture and top with remaining half. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate until serving time. When you get to your potluck, place loaf on a serving tray and take a serrated knife to slice it into 2 inch pieces.

Egg sandwiches, I would say cut then into 4 triangles. Egg salad, tuna salad, those kind of sandwiches should be cut in 4's. Lunch meat should be cut in half.

i think it depends on how much filling you put in the sandwich if you put a good amount in there halves or you could make em like tea sandwiches with a small amount and cut them into 4 triangle some with the crust on and some without

I would use a variety of breads, shapes, sizes with variety of meats cheeses and other fillings but make it semi buffet arranging the breads in a fancy basket with containers serving different things but all on a large platter w/ grooves and bowls attached you can find them in nice party stores or Target etc. make sure you have enough plastic knifes and spoons for dipping your items. Make it colorful as well for your dipping utensils while adding a bow or something nice to your basket.

I've always seen them cut into 2's. Cutting them into 4's would be a bit messy with the salad spilling out.

maybe you should cut some of them in 2 and some in 4 triangles and let the guests decide for themselves which size they prefer.

Cut them in 4 pieces, then arrange on a tray with a bed of leaf lettuce decorated with cherry tomatoes.

Well, it really depends on how many ppl are going. If it is a smaller crowd, Id do 2. If it is a larger crowd, I'd do 4.
