I am having a party. I am making Chile Verde and Chile Colorado for 70 people. I am using London Broil and Pork Shoulder. How many pounds of meat do I need? I usually go to my local Carniceria and get it. The butcher will chop it for me.

I would 18 pounds of each that way you will for sure have enough. That would give you 36 pounds and that would allow for seconds if wanted. If you are going to have beans, rice, sopas, and salad you can do only 15 of each.Make sure to have servers so everyone gets the same amount. They will eat good and you will not spend a lot of money..Do chicken mole....

I shall assume that you are having quite a few side dishes as well, ey? To serve 70 people, you have to figure that all 70 will want to enjoy both the Chile Verde and the Chile Colorado, so you'll be purchasing the same amount. Since the meat is chopped and cooks down, then is eaten with tortillas, you probably won't need as much as you would if you were carving it. I'd plan on 1 cup each per person, which should equate to about 4 oz per cup.

I have great difficulty suspending disbelief about this. The appropriate scientific attitude to take towards it is clearly to remain agnostic and derive a test which can be used to falsify or corroborate the claim, then to pick holes in the procedure in the light of the results to come up with an alternative explanation, devise another experiment and so on. However, my degree of belief that this is so is very low. Another aspect to look at here is the alleged motive for the research, i.e. to help the military. I can't reconcile that with ahimsa and it casts further doubt upon the issue. The question of deriving nutrition from a "hole in the palate" actually refers to "tasting the dews of Heaven", which is the practice of touching the underside of the sphenoid with the tip of the tongue, which is a Bandha. When you do that, it touches the mucus in your nasopharynx. That is normally produced matter like any other secretion in the body and its production does not break the laws of thermodynamics.

evite.com has a wonderful food and drink calculator. I use it to plan my meals. Usually 1/2 pound of meat per person. Ask your butcher.
