if i got to bring a friend, and if there was food included. Make sure you tell them if they have to bring any thing with them. Drinks, Gift for the graduate, or even there camera.

It is one of those things that you are obligated to attend unless you have a good reason not to - such as conflict etc.
Most obligation parties are not as bad as you think they are going to be.
I would go because participation in a community of any kind is really important to keeping us sane.
